Thursday, April 10th is the opening for the “Enviro” show at Falls Church Arts. The exhibit runs through May 11, 2014. When you put out a call for a show like this, don’t expect the regular crowd of painters to show up, because this is a call for sculpture and construction, mixed media and such. Consider the requirements. Teddy Wiant, environmental artist is the curator. According to FCA, work for this show is expected to represent and utilize natural and recycled materials. Having stopped by this morning to check it out, you can see a range of work from free spirited assemblage to polished sculpture. Since the show is still in a state of hanging, this report is missing some details, but that will follow with an article based on this evening’s opening.

See the slideshow. As always with Falls Church Arts, you can expect a party atmosphere and lots of excitement around seeing this brand spanking new work. According to a report from Falls Church News, a couple of art teachers from Falls Church are entered in this exhibit: Marc Robarge and John Ballou. This is part of the culture of the community to provide lots of opportunities to engage art and its purposes.
