Creative gift wrapping - brown bags and buttons

A tree of buttons brightens a simply wrapped gift.

Wrapping gifts should be as much fun as selecting them. Beautiful wrapping doesn’t have to be expensive  - you just have to use a bit of creativity.  We’ve put together some ideas to crank start your imagination.

First up, the humble paper bag. Brown paper grocery bags make great wrapping paper for a down-home feel. You can also use butcher paper. Cut open a paper bag,  spread flat and wrap your gift with any print on the bag facing inward so it doesn’t show on the exterior of the gift. Dress up the simply wrapped gift with a button Christmas tree.

Spray paint a selection of buttons gold, and then glue them onto a piece of blue card stock in a tree shape. When the glue is dry, cut out the Christmas tree with pinking shears and use double stick tape to attach it to your gift. Finish with blue satin ribbon wrapped around the bottom of the box.

Next up, hand-decorated gift bags.
