Creation expresses the attributes of God

Creation and the study thereof is a good thing but we must not lose sight of the importance of the Creator Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember that since He is Sovereign over His Creation, we should recognize who He is and why it is important to keep our focus on Him and the purposes of His Creation. It is also important how His attributes are manifested in His Creation. How does Creation express the attributes of God?

His Deity : Romans 1:20 clearly states this, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse."

His Glory : The heavens are telling the glory and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and firmament sheweth his handywork" (Psalm 19:1).

His Sovereignty over His Creation : Revelation 4:11 tells of His sovereignty over Creation. "Thou art worthy, O, Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

His Power : "Lift up your eyes on high and behold who hath created these things, and bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding" (Isaiah 40:26,28).

His Goodness : "For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of his goodness of the LORD. By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathered the waters of the sea together as an heap; he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD, let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done, he commanded, and it stood fast" (Psalm 33:4-9).

His Care over His Creation : Psalm 104 : 1-35 is an excellent passage of Scripture. These Scriptures tells us how God truly cares for what He created. Just read these Scriptures several times. Verse 14 and 15 shows us that He cares for His Ultimate creation : man. "He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man : that he may bring forth food out of the earth: And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart."

His Creative Acts : We are privileged to enjoy the fruits of His Creation : Sky (night and day), clouds, sunrises, sunsets, lakes, rivers, oceans, mountains, animals, plants, our ability to hear, see, taste, touch, smell, observe, make, work, and most importantly to worship our Creator. I personally am in awe of God's Creation. There is so many wonders of creation that I give the Lord all the glory and thanks for the opportunity to observe it. Amen!
