A New Year gives us the opportunity to reflect on the previous year, reconnect with the wonderful things that happened throughout the year while renewing our purpose for the year ahead. Give yourself permission to embark on an empowering journey as you search your soul; creating a vision to help you transcend to your highest selves and fulfill your destiny! Are you ready to create your vision?
A vision board is visual representation or blue print for defining and creating the kind of life you envision for yourself. The concept behind the vision board is the basic law of attraction - when you surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to have, etc. you are able to draw your desires to you.
Creating a vision board is very therapeutic. It requires that you do a bit of soul searching. It's an excellent activity to reflect, bring things into perspective, and bring closure or "clean house" of all the unwanted elements in your life.
You can make any type vision board you like. The options are infinite! You can be as specific or as open as you like. I have created a personal and business vision board. If you haven't created a vision board, I encourage you to create one and share your experience!!
Gather your materials: poster board, lots of magazines, glue stick, scissors, music (optional).
Mediate on your vision: Mediate before you begin creating your vision board. Sit quietly and set the intent. Give yourself permission. Ask yourself what do I want for my life. Detach yourself from the outcome and open your heart and allow the universe to bring forth your answers. Take a moment to be and actually feel your thoughts. This process enriches the experience and makes it more powerful. It also allows your ego to step aside so that you can more clearly create your vision.
Begin creating your vision: Go through your magazines and cut out images and words that appeal to you. After you have collected your images and words, begin to lay them out on the board. Eliminate any images that no longer feel right. Follow your intuition as you arrange your images and words. Once your arrangement is complete, glue everything into place. You can add writing to your vision board or even paint on it if you like. To enhance your vision board, you may consider placing photo of yourself where you look fabulous and radiant in the very center of your board. You may also consider laminating your vision board to help protect your vision.
Use your vision board as a daily reminder: It is really important that you actually use your vision board after you have created it. Once the board is complete, you want to place it where you can see it everyday. I like to use a 5×7 poster board so that I can carry it with me wherever I go; that way whenever I get distracted I can pull it out. Set aside time everyday to actually feel your vision board. Touch the images and words. Envision yourself within the images and words. Think about what it would be like to live your vision. This will help to serve as inspiration and motivation. It will also help to maintain positive energy flow and connection between you and your vision.
