Created to Serve

After ten great years working for the Leavenworth Road Association I decided to move on. Word went out that the LRA needed a replacement and into the office came a bright, vigorous young woman, Melissa Bynum. Without much effort she moved right in, tackled the computer and the programs that were in motion and brought about new ones.

When the Leavenworth Road area was hit hard by a massive tornado, word came that Melissa was walking house to house to help with the cleanup and find whatever was needed to restore homes.

Melissa's next move was working with the Red Cross, gathering supplies for emergencies and troubled disaster victims, always working to help,

Of late Melissa has been serving the community with Wyandot Inc. as Community Relations Director, opening the door to receive and distribute such needed supplies as are available. She is also community relations director for the Shepherd's Center, the hyper-active senior citizen's organization in Wyandotte County.

So, it is not surprising that Melissa Bynum has received the Community Partnership Award from Liveable Neighborhoods and Community Policing. She was given the award for strong and exceptional support for local neighborhoods.

Congratulations to an outstanding and wonderful leader!
