This nine-month program was created for the City of Oakland by the Business Value Alliance and its cofounders, Claire Kinlaw and Darlene Crane. Participants with a nascent idea for expansion meet in monthly half-day group and individual sessions. During these sessions, they discuss their goals with industry and business experts who provide guidance in achieving sustainable growth.

The company was named as a finalist for the Best Elevator Pitch Prize at the 2009 Silicon Valley Boomer Venture Summit and Business Plan Competition. Their product, "The Inspired In-law Kit," is a solution for boomers seeking to accommodate their aging parents in their current home. This concept creates a green, financially feasible, multigenerational housing solution.
On June 22, 2009, Created in Oakland will be presenting to the Oakland Merchant Leadership Forum at the Oakland City Hall, Hearing Room 4, at 8:30 a.m.
