It’s time to break out the blenders, pick up the patrón and stock up on limes and salt. National Margarita Day is coming and Margaritaville.com is looking for the perfect concoction of tequila, triple sec and citrus-spiked ingredients. Frozen or on the rocks, if you have a blend, send it in.
The winning recipe in the Margaritaville margarita recipe contest will snag the entrant a top-of-the-line Tahiti Frozen Concoction Maker (approximate retail value of $499). This Examiner just happens to have the Bahamas model of Jimmy Buffett’s ever popular frozen concoction maker and can’t say enough good things about it.
The winning recipe could also be the featured margarita in U.S. Margaritaville and LandShark Bar & Grill restaurants on National Margarita Day, Feb. 22, 2013. As a self-professed Parrot Head, this Examiner has had her share of margaritas. Let me tell you, Margaritaville is among the best. They also have excellent key lime pie, in case anybody was wondering.
The basic rules are simple. Entrants must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the margarita recipe contest. At least one Margaritaville brand product must be used in the recipe. Many items can be found in local grocery or ABC stores.

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Cafés are located across the country, the Caribbean and even Canada. An Atlantic City location will be opening soon. Margaritaville casinos can be found in Biloxi, Mississippi and at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Bossier City, Louisiana is scheduled to open in 2013. The Margaritaville Beach Hotel opened in Pensacola, Florida in 2010.
