Let's face it, the most of us are not that lucky to mingle with the Hollywood stars, to be invited to their exclusive parties, or to try the delicious dishes, which were specifically created for the Oscars 2012 by the fabulous chefs. Don't be discouraged by this fact, though. Whoever you are and wherever you are, you can still experience the Oscars atmosphere at the convenience of your own home. You can be in Chicago and feel like you are in Los Angeles.
Here are some tips on how to create the Oscars atmosphere at your own home:
- Choose your favorite movie, which was nominated for the Oscars 2012 (mine is "Midnight in Paris" (2011)), and create the dishes reflecting this particular movie theme, era, culture, country, etc.
- If your favorite nominee is Italian, you can get away with a simple dish like pizza and the Italian wine (check out Binny's for that).
- If your favorite nominee is a French movie, you have to be more creative and thought provoking with the selection of your dishes. For the advice and ideas, you can stop by your local Trader Joe's, Treasure Island, or Whole Foods. The employees of these stores are usually young, educated, culturally Let's face it, the most of us are not that lucky to mingle with the Hollywood stars, to be invited to their exclusive parties, or to try the delicious dishes, which were specifically created for the Oscars 2012 by the fabulous savvy, and not devoid of the intellectual curiosity, in general.
- And finally, if your favorite movie nominee is American, you can practically serve whichever dishes you prefer, such as: all-American comfort food, sandwiches, hot-dogs and fries, hamburgers, and beer.
Happy Oscars 2012 to all!
