Love art, music, crafts, and good times? Create Fixate is back with “Dreams” on Saturday November 9, 2013 at Lot 613 in Downtown Los Angeles. With a signature blend of art and music along with creatives and party goers in a cool warehouse location, Dreams promises to be another evening of visually exciting art and eclectic music produced by local talent.
Celebrating Creative Fixate's 12th anniversary Dreams will feature top graffiti artists Dytch 66 and Tewsr teaming with Los Angeles-based contemporary fine artists Mallory Morrison, and Lindsay Carron to create large mural-like paintings merging the two artist’s respective art styles in a creative mash-up. Each piece will be a unique blend of street, and fine art, with an unpredictable outcome as the talent will be completing each mural just days before show time.
One of the two galleries will be solely dedicated to this project, the other gallery will exhibit pieces from over a dozen more awe-inspiring painters, jewelry, fashion and craft artists. Proceeds from the Graffiti/Fine Art Mash Up will benefit Create Fixates “Young Creatives”, a program encouraging at-risk youth to express themselves through creativity.
The Audio lab will be alive for dancing and listening with a mix of musical acts including KCRW favorite Valida, mixing a seamless blend of everything from disco to country and beyond, The Oxygen Tango School of LA, a live performance from Holloys, legendary House Music master Steve Loria with his underground Bang the Drum, and more!
The evening starts at 4:00pm with a preview until 7:00pm. Parents are encouraged to bring the family and take advantage of the Kids Kreativity Zone which will be overflowing with art supplies in a supervised space where youth can dive into their own expression while parents explore the exhibit. After 7pm the party continues for the 21 and over crowd until 2am.
