These nifty little books are made from kits that were bought from Papersource. Papersource can be reached on line at http://www.paper-source.com/, and there are several locations in the Chicago area. There is store in Lincoln Park, River North, Highland Park, Evanston, and Oak Park. This is a craft store disguised as a boutique shop for cards and gifts items. Yes, you can get all those things and more, but there is also a large assortment of specialty papers, stamps, inks, punches, embellishments and anything else you need to make something from paper.
I recommend their kits. Papersource has a wonderful collection of do-it-yourself kits for making boxes, books, paper flowers and wreaths. I made these little books from kits that come complete except for the glue and decorative embellishments. These accordion books are simple to make (directions included) and fun to use. They are great for photos and both sides of the page can be used. They make terrific gifts.
Papersource has classes for making various paper projects, however their customer service is good and they can get you set you up with whatever you need for a specific project. Warning: The paperphile can get overstimulated at this store. I know this from personal experience and I usually bring a less crafty chaperon that will drag me out of there before I get carried away and buy the place out.
