Create a raised garden bed

Making a raised bed garden is easy to do and can be created using a raised bed kit or making up your own with the right lumber, stakes and equipment.

Raised bed kits only require you to supply the dirt, plants and water while making your own raised bed requires the correct tools and equipment. From purchasing the right lumber for a garden to correctly measuring the lumber and putting it in place.

Raised bed garden kits come in a variety of sizes in order for the gardener to get just the right size and determine how many plants will be in the garden so that it can hold as many or as little plants as you want to grow.

The standard raised bed garden kit comes with the pre-cut wood, aluminum corners, hardware and instructions. The most popular garden kit is Cedar because it is naturally rot-resistant and harder than most other timbers. Other popular kits include composite and metal raised bed kits and complete gated kits.

There are also elevated raised bed kits that allow you to garden while standing or sitting in a chair. They are easier on the knees and back by eliminating having to bend over when you garden.

From size and materials, to design and price, there are a lot of variables to consider when choosing the raised bed for your garden. Start planning early and determine what size kit you need and how many plants you will be planting before starting.

You can learn more about Raised Bed Gardens and learn what it takes to install one on the Raised Bed Web site. You can also visit your local home and garden store such as Lowe’s or Home Depot for more information on creating a garden.
