As Spring slowly but inevitably makes her long awaited entrance, many of us are suffering from Winter Face. Sallow, pale and in dire need of a few sunny days. And while the thought of luxuriating in a fancy spa for an entire day mightn't be a feasible option, there are several things you can do at home to pamper yourself-and perhaps a friend or two-that will help nurture your soul (and that Winter face!) back to life, refreshed and fabulous. I appeared on Better TV today with a segment showing exactly how to do it. In case you missed it, here's the link and a "cheat sheet" for your reference!
Make It Pretty: Get the environment ready for relaxation! A few new fluffy towels, scented candles, essential oils and some relaxing tunes. I actually went to Home Goods, Marshalls and TJ Maxx and hit the clearance aisle for some lovely and really well priced towels. It's always nicer to use brand new linens for days like this but they don't have to cost a fortune.
Scrubs, masks and oils galore: Indulge your face and body in luxe masks and creams and even by using ingredients you have in your refrigerator. There are so many amazing products on the market from Ole Henrickesen, Decleor and The Body Shop and some smaller known brands have amazing items as well. Whole Foods has one of the most impressive lineups of beauty products and organic produce that would rival any up-market beauty counter.
Massage Is A Must: Everyone needs a great massage of some kind once in a while. We tried the Homedics Shiatsu Massage Cushion With Heat that fits on a chair and their Shiatsu foot massager will have you feeling better than you do in a pedicure chair.
Light Bites + Champagne: Enjoy some healthy snacks and sips while having your mini spa day. No need to hold your nose and guzzle a green drink you're pretending to love. T-Fal helps us keep our bites healthy by allowing you to fry foods with only one teaspoon of pool. Clear your palettes with Moet champagne and organic berries is the perfect ending.
DIY Thank you: Show your thanks for spending the day with you and make a cute little DIY favor that costs almost nothing! Take a mini Ball Jar, add Epsom salt and the essential oils of your choice and voila! You're not only refreshed and ready for spring, but you're a fabulous hostess with DIY street fred to boot!
