Create a chic three tiered stand

Everything old is new again. Home decor, like fashion, always comes back around as the styles evolve and change. What a few years ago may have seemed old and tired gets a makeover and a modern twist and is in vogue again. One style that is resurging right now is the "flea market style" or "junktique" look. Basically this style can be acheived by taking old worn out items, such as furniture or home decor pieces, and making them into something new and usable. A big part of this style is the joy of the hunt. Finding that perfect old piece of "trash" and making it into your own unique treasure.

Here is a fun tutorial from Tanya at twelveOeight that shows you how to make your very own junky three tiered stand from old cake pans. Most of these supplies can easily be found at thrift stores or flea markets and the rest can be had for a good price from your local craft store. This is a good project to get your imagination flowing as you will start to see items that are cast off have the potential to become something new and improved. Think of other things you can use to make your stand such as ruffled tart pans, old tins or pie plates. The possibilities are endless and you will come away with some truely unique pieces.
