'Catfish' cast member Sunny Cross arrested for DWI; plans to fight charges

Sunny Cross, who appeared on MTV’s “Catfish,” was arrested on Sunday morning, Jan. 27 for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, TMZ reported on Jan. 27. Cross appeared on the first episode of “Catfish” where she was “introduced” to her internet boyfriend, who turned out to be a girl named Chelsea.

At 8:20 a.m. on Jan. 27. Cross was stopped in Fayetteville, Ark. for driving too close to another vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road and driving while intoxicated, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Sunny Cross posted bail in the amount of $1,055 and was released at 9:39 a.m.

TMZ attempted to contact Sunny, leaving a voicemail for her. TMZ reported that a few minutes after they called Cross, she tweeted, “Well, I guess it’s safe to say last night was an epic fail.”

TMZ posted an update to the Sunny Cross “Catfish” DWI arrest, saying that she plans to fight the charges. Cross claims she only blew a .08, which is the legal limit. Sunny also failed her field sobriety test, but claims she was wearing Christian Louboutins and “Nobody could walk a straight line in those shoes.”

Sunny Cross claims TMZ never tried to contact her, tweeting, "And despite what TMZ is saying they never tried to contact me. Lies." Cross also tweeted, "@HarveyLevinTMZ pretty pathetic u think I'm worthy enough to do a story on me. Find a celebrity to harass. Must be a slow day in the office."
