On May 17, 2014, the annual Crawfish for Cancer benefit will be held at Boat Basin Cafe from 2-7 p.m. Enjoy a day of crawfish, beer, dancing, and music all while helping a good cause. Proceeds will go to Multiple myeloma cancer research.
According to MedicineNet, Multiple myeloma is caused by malignant plasma cells that proliferate in the bone marrow and produce abnormally high amounts of a special protein. Since plasma cells are supposed to supposed to help the immune system, this cancer results in a weak immune system, bone lesions, and soft tissue.
Tickets for the sixth annual Crawfish for Cancer fundraiser will go on sale on May 13, 2014 and they range from $70-$95.
