The Hot Chocolate Crawl features four of Chicago's most delectable spots for this winter treat. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. at XOCO, part of the Rick Bayless family of restaurants. While this spot is conveniently located in River North, you'll be transported to Mexico as you sip on XOCO's frothy Mexican hot chocolate, made fresh from Mexican cacao beans ground in-store, and munch on a hot-from-the-fryer churro. Xoco is one of the ONLY restaurants in country to roast and grind our own cacao!
Next, hop aboard the toasty trolley from Chicago Trolley and head to Logan Square's famed Katherine Anne Confections. Local and national media outlets alike have been raving about its deliciously rich drinking chocolate since its opening in 2012. Katherine will give a behind-the-scenes tour. Sample her signature bittersweet hot chocolate. Top it with a homemade 'mallow from the marshmallow bar featuring flavors like salted caramel and champagne.
The next stop is Froth, the gourmet hot chocolate concept from our favorite local yogurt connoisseurs, Forever Yogurt. Froth offers made-to-order hot chocolates in seven different varieties, like Andes Mint and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. These rich treats made from real melted chocolate can be topped with anything from Forever Yogurt's extensive topping bar.
At this point, you'll probably be ready for some adult hot chocolate. At Potter's Lounge in the historic Palmer House Hilton, you're sure to be impressed as you sip on your Mini Chocolate Bourbon Shooter featuring fresh hot chocolate, Woodford Reserve bourbon, and whipped cream. Non-alcoholic hot chocolate will also be available.
