Crash test review: Honda Accord

The Honda Accord is typically thought of as a family sedan, however it is also a favorite of street racers and performance minded enthusiasts. Thanks to extensive aftermarket modifications, engine swaps, and more the Honda Accord can actually be considered a street sport style of car. In stock form, it handles very well and provides adequate acceleration for it's size and weight. The crash test review of this vehicle is very important because so many of them are being converted into track and street racing vehicles.

Watching the video footage below you can see that the Honda Accord received a "good" rating. I'd like to further commentate on this rating. Notice how well the cabin of the chassis holds up during the offset frontal impact. This is the most challenging type of accident to engineer against. The Honda Accord holds up exceptionally well under these stressful conditions, great job Honda engineer team! Considering the weight of the chassis, cost, and overall design I would feel very safe in this vehicle traveling at over 100 mph.

Notice how the vehicle cradles the driver during impact forcing the dummy into the airbag. This is very good and it reduces the amount of whiplash experienced during a wreck. Many variables are taken into consideration during a crash test and the Honda Accord passes with flying colors. There is a reason why this vehicle is the third most popular design in the world! Safety, performance, and appeal are all very well engineered into an affordable package the average consumer can purchase! Great job Honda, your Accord passes my crash test review with flying colors.
