The Ford Mustang is a great example of how a test crash vehicle should perform. The new 2010 Ford Mustang performs exceptionally well in the following crash test footage. The boxy design of the vehicle gives it ample crunch zone space to keep the occupants safe. Both front and side impacts keep the passengers relatively safe.

The front impact is mostly absorbed by the engine bay crunch zone, while the side impact is saved by the thick side pillar located just behind the front passenger area. This bulky zone keeps the rear passengers safe in the event of side collision as well. During both types of crash, the chassis remains strong and intact, with no noticeable flex according to the following videos. The overall design of the vehicle creates a crash cage effect out of the chassis and is excellent for performance and racing minded enthusiasts. For race application, a full roll cage is still needed for maximum safety. I would feel safe driving this vehicle over 100 mph.
