Last week there was a helicopter crash in London’s Vauxhall neighborhood. On Jan. 23, Washington Post reported that the pilot was warned about the weather before he ever started the flight.
The pilot and one other person died in this crash. He was warned not to fly but was quoted in a text saying that he would “land in a field if I have to.” Barnes had been flying for over 25 years so it wasn't like he had no idea what he was doing, but he was not safe enough on this one.
Huffington Post is reporting that he was a remarkable person. The company that he works for has flown several people around on their trips and vacations including Simon Cowell.
Are you shocked to hear that he knew about the bad weather but flew anyway? If he had listened, then he would have never hit the crane and crashed. It should make other pilots think twice before flying in bad weather.
