We awoke in the three bed oceanfront suite at Breakers to a familiar sound. Racing over to the balcony, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, we couldn't believe our eyes. Horses were galloping down the beach.
Horse back riding on the beach is one of many activities around the Myrtle Beach area in South Carolina. Go sky high in a helicopter ride, feel as if you're under the sea at Ripley's Aquarium, try your hand at one of the many golf courses, and inquire about science at WonderWorks. Myrtle Beach has so many things to do, Breakers Resort is conveniently located where 501 meets the ocean.
The Breakers Resort has nearly everything one might require, from Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, Starbucks and other dining establishments, to a plethora of pools, a massive pirate ship, lazy river, shuffleboard, a slew of jacuzzis, sandy beaches, cabanas and a jail for naughty little rascals. Okay, maybe it's not a jail, so much as picture posing point where one can stick hands and head through a cutout to make it seem as if they're in pirate prison. There's so many cutely decorated points, the resort does not miss a beat, as each way you turn, there's another awesomely airbrushed designed decal.
Dolphins and whales guard one indoor jacuzzi, overlooking a half-indoor and half-outdoor pool with two outside jacuzzis. The next building has an indoor play complex with a mushroom sprinkler, a jacuzzi shaped like X marks the spot, an indoor pool surrounded by vividly colored pirates, and a half-indoor and half-outdoor lazy river that encircles yet another jacuzzi – and that's not all! There are multiple buildings, and each has their own pool and jacuzzi; thus, you can hop between the different swimming spots, ensuring you find one that is just right, whether it's the shallow moat around the pirate's boat, or one of the half-indoor and half-outdoor water features at the Breakers Resort.
There's a fitness center that overlooks the ocean. It's nice to work out, be able look at the waves, and still be covered from the elements. Keep muscles warm and sweat out toxins in the saunas at Breakers.
Prepare food easily, as each suite at Breakers has a full kitchen. Stove, oven and microwave ensure that mealtime can be as convenient as being in your own home. Having all utensils, dishes and cookware, along with a refrigerator, it makes having a homemade meal on vacation easy.
Of course, if you're not up for cooking, there are so many restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area, it would take over a year to try a meal at each place. There's great food in the Breakers Resort and nearby. Simply stroll down the beach, and you will find plenty of places to choose from within minutes.
Hoof down to the pier. Ride the Sky Wheel. Stop at a few shops.
The only problem with vacationing in Myrtle Beach is having enough time to fit in everything you want to do. From interactive dinner theatres like Dolly Parton's Pirate's Voyage and Medieval Times, to flashy shows at the Carolina Opry, shopping the outlet malls and trying delicious seafood, like the She Crab Soup at Mr. Fish, there's plenty of things in Myrtle Beach to keep you busy. Play a round of putt-putt golf at Hawaiian Rumble, and see if you're good enough to join the pro putt-putt players.

Breakers Resort is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, which makes it easy to travel to anywhere. There's plenty to do and see just by simple walking on foot, but driving is a breeze, as the hotel is located at the end of a main road to go in and out of town. Having a beautiful location with stunning pools and heart-pounding ocean views, Breakers is a location that is sure to satisfy the whole family.
