On Sunday, August 25, Cranford N.J. hosted its annual Street Fair and Craft show. Thousands of local residents ended their summer by coming out and enjoying the work of nearly 200 arts, crafts, and jewelry vendors. The streets of downtown Cranford were shut down for the afternoon and lined with various tents and attractions thanks to the Cranford Chamber of Commerce. The street fair especially catered to families and children, boasting a small petting zoo, pony rides, and several bouncy tents for kids to play inside. There was also a laser tag event set up near the end of the fair. Along with kid-friendly fun were dozens of jewelry vendors who sold unique and interesting items as well as several tents dedicated to local businesses. The fair included a wide selection of food, from crepes to pretzels to pulled pork sandwiches, and of course the funnel cake stand. Music played across the town, clowns created balloon animals for the kids, and a Michael Jackson impersonator entertained all. The annual street fair is always a great way to support the community while finding something different to do for the day, and this year’s fair did just that.
