Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is in full swing in New York, and images of what's ahead for fashion are starting to pour out onto the web. What are we seeing, over here at Minneapolis Men's Style, for men in particular? Wintery colors and textures abound in images from the Joseph Abboud, Libertine, and Todd Snyder shows, as designers show off their plans for Fall 2012.
It's an interesting juxtaposition to the bright colors of spring collections lining the shelf and walls of retail stores. But on a typically cold and wintery day here in Minnesota, we have to say ... the winter stuff's looking pretty nice and cozy.
The sharpest contrast for us, between "what's available" and "what's coming," is in the colors themselves. With spring and summer collections focusing on the eye-popping kinds of colors, the Fall 2012 collections are much more somber.
The lone color standing out in a sea of neutral?
We're noticing a rich cranberry color pop up across the collections as a strong accent against the greys, blacks, and browns. It's a great way to make a bold statement without looking out of season. Check out the slideshow of some of our favorite cranberry-inspired looks, and let us know what you think! Are you digging cranberry as a way to add a subtle but bold bit of color to your wintery look?
