"How I Met Your Mother" is getting ready to wrap on CBS, and work has begun on the "How I Met Your Dad" spin-off series. On Saturday, Jan. 18, We Got This Covered shared the latest comments made by Craig Thomas about the new series.

This new spin-off series will have a lot to live up to when it arrives, but it will also fight to create its own identity as well. Craig Thomas revealed that the series will have plenty of 'curveballs' to separate it from the original series. Fans should expect many 'twists and turns' as well. He teased the following about the new series:

The character in How I Met Your Dad, the main character Sally, is very different from Ted Mosby. We meet her at a very different and tumultuous moment of her life. Right away, it feels different and interesting to us as writers. At the same time, I hope it taps into something archetypal, which is just like, everyone wants to tell their life story, right?

Craig Thomas and Carter Bays will work on the new series, but they will be not in the driver seat. Emily Spivey is the main person in charge of the new series. What do you think? Will you be tuning in to watch the story of Sally on the new series?

"How I Met Your Mother" will continue to air on CBS on Monday nights.
