Craig Hill remains a Scorpion

The San Antonio Scorpions announced the re-signing of their only San Antonio native product as Craig Hill re-signed for the club.

Hill served as the third choice goalkeeper in 2012 and didn't see a single minute of game-time in his first ever season as a professional.

“It’s great that he’s returning so we can capitalize on what he learned. No doubt he will help the team bond and be very competitive.” said Head Coach Tim Hankinson in a press release.

Hill joined the Scorpions after not making the cut at FC Dallas in 2011 when he was chosen in the MLS Supplemental Draft.

The goalkeeper had a solid collegiate career at Southern Methodist which included an NCAA tournament Elite Eight appearance after 38 starts in his junior and senior years.

As of yet it is not clear what Hill's role will be after the Scorpions lost Daryl Sattler to Minnesota in the offseason but he will certainly be hoping for more game-time.

The Scorpions are still looking for a third goalkeeper to add to their roster but presently no contract has been offered and so Hill has a golden opportunity to impress when the players return for the 2013 season next Friday.
