More than 100 artists, artisans, and craftsmen will offer their wares at CraftFest Aug. 21 and 22 on the Cotuit village green on Cape Cod. With free parking and free admission, this premier event is a frugal way to enjoy local art in a quintessential Cape Cod village.
The 40th annual festival draws exhibitors from all over New England and as far as Florida, with items such as decorated Ukrainian eggs, jewelry made from antique buttons, and sgraffito decorated pottery. Several local painters, photographers, and sculptors will also display their work in a special art tent.
While many come to CraftFest in search of a visual feast, others come for the food. Volunteers from the Cotuit Federated Church offer lobster rolls and clam chowder prepared in the adjacent church kitchen, along with hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream.
