The CRAFT series of free monthly cultural meetups continue in Pinellas County, with the purpose of networking and encouraging collaboration between the various arts and cultural organizations in the area. Organized through a partnership between local arts agency Creative Pinellas and local literary champions Wordier Than Thou, these CRAFT: Cultural Meetups are open to artists, performers, and cultural organizations of all types.
The series was created to offer an informal space for artists in all disciplines to meet, to learn about local arts venues, and to discuss potential collaborations. The first CRAFT event in July hosted approximately 45 guests at the Morean, and included raffle items from the Dali Museum and the Chihuly Collection.
The next meeting is coming up this week on Wednesday, August 27, starting with a visit to the Morean Center for Clay at 6 pm, followed by a 7:30 p.m. happy hour at Three Daughters Brewing Company.
CRAFT events begin at 6 p.m. with a casual gathering and tour through a participating Pinellas County arts venue. They continue at 7:30 p.m., as groups adjourn to a nearby local brewery for drinks and conversation.
Guests are encouraged to bring business cards or event fliers to share with the group. There will be a free raffle afterward for a chance to win items such as museum memberships or event tickets donated by arts industry partners.
