Cracker Barrel Phil Robertson: 'Duck Dynasty' products are back, apology given

A Cracker Barrel, Phil Robertson “feud” is quite short-lived this week, as the popular restaurant chain Cracker Barrel has already said it will be returning “Duck Dynasty” products back to its shelves promptly, only two days after taking them away for controversial gay and black comments made by the family patriarch. The store-and-food locales have also made an apology to the reality TV stars and fans of the shows for the temporarily lapse of support and any offense they might have given. MSN TV tells more on this change of heart this Monday, Dec. 23, 2013.

The Cracker Barrel, “Duck Dynasty” disagreement came about after the usually beloved television figure, Phil Robertson, came under public scrutiny and criticism in recent weeks for his negative statements about gays, as mentioned in hotly contended words from a new GQ magazine interview. Since then, this Friday, Cracker Barrel opted to pull “Duck Dynasty” items from its shelves, adding that they would not want to offend any customers of the hit series insulted by Robertson’s comments.

However, the retail restaurant’s move only seemed to enrage those same fans, and had a completely undesired effect on its targeted audience. Says a Facebook post from the official Cracker Barrel media page on the Cracker Barrel Phil Robertson issue:

"You flat out told us we were wrong. We listened. Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores. And, we apologize for offending you."

Quite a direct message and apology from the retailer. The regretful posting has been liked thousands of times and counting on the Facebook page, along with hundreds of comments. Here's the entire message from the site on the Cracker Barrel “Duck Dynasty” decision to bring back these popular products on the shelves:

"Dear Cracker Barrel Customer:

When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that's just what we've done.

You told us we made a mistake. And, you weren't shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings. You flat out told us we were wrong.

We listened.

Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores. And, we apologize for offending you.

We respect all individuals right to express their beliefs. We certainly did not mean to have anyone think different.

We sincerely hope you will continue to be part of our Cracker Barrel family."
