Edge is teasing a potential new video game. According to a report from Gamepur on June 5, the magazine showed of the teaser for the 269th issue, teasing a blinking green light over a black background. The hint lead to many theories with the most popular ones being "Crackdown 3," "Mass Effect 4" and a new game in the "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" series.

"Crackdown 3" was ousted by an industry insider who also got a lot of other potential reveals correct. However, the same individual claimed that an announcement won't be coming at E3 2014 as the project won't be launching until 2016. Microsoft Studios apparently signed a deal with Cloudgine, a start-up studio composing of several members of the development team behind the first game of the series.

The development of the tentatively-titled "Mass Effect 4" appears to be much further along. One of the members from Bioware confirmed that the project is around the half-way point of the development cycle. As a result, the company may be getting ready to show off its progress, possibly at E3 2014 where Electronic Arts teased that several new video game will be announced. The Edge teaser may be for the eye of the Geth, one of the alien species in the series.

Scott Lee, the art director of last year's "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist," has already confirmed that a new installment of the series is in development for the PS4 and Xbox One. The video game could be featured during Ubisoft's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The third-party publisher already has a big lineup for the event with "Assassin's Creed Unity," "Far Cry 4" and "Tom Clancy's The Division."

By the time the next issue of Edge is revealed, the E3 2014, which takes place on June 9 starting with several big media briefings, event will be long over.
