According to TSN, the Phoenix Coyotes hammered the Calgary Flames by a score of 6-0 on Tuesday night.

Coyotes goaltender Thomas Greiss made 27 saves for his second National Hockey League career shutout and first with the Coyotes. Last year while with the San Jose Sharks, Greiss made 24 saves in a 4-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche on January 26.

The Coyotes also had outstanding offense throughout their lineup as seven players registered a multi-point game. Lauri Korpikoski led the Coyotes with a goal and two assists. Shane Doan, Michael Stone, Mikkel Boedker and Martin Hanzal all had a goal and an assist and Mike Ribeiro and Radim Vrbata registered two assists each.

For Vrbata, his two point game was impressive because he was left off Team Czech Republic for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi earlier on Tuesday.

Doan meanwhile scored the game winning goal at 2:07 of the second period. It was his first goal after missing 12 games with Rocky Mountain Fever.

With the win, the Coyotes now have a 15 point lead on the Flames in the battle for a Western Conference playoff spot. The Flames next play the St. Louis Blues at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday.
