Coyne breaks collarbone

With a blindside tackle by Woodward’s Richard White, the fortunes of the Hamilton Badin Rams in 2010 could have taken a turn for the worst.

On the play, during the Rams first drive of the second quarter, quarterback and UC commit Patrick Coyne was injured on a nine-yard run. He left Stargell Stadium at halftime, his arm in a sling, to go get X-rays.

It's been reported that Coyne suffered a broken collarbone and hopes to return by the seventh or eighth game.

He was 110-of-175 (62.9 percent) for 1,529 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior en route to GCL Central first-team honors.

“Our team really responded to adversity,” said Badin head coach Bill Tenore. “We fumbled our first snap and they recovered in the red zone.”
