The obsession with the Cowgirl Fever Horse Blanket Turnout of 2010 has carried through into the 2011 winter blanketing season. Frankly, I find it amazing how this one particular item of horse clothing has become such a “must have” in so many horse circles.
To be sure, this Cowgirl Fever blanket is a fabulous horse turnout. It is well constructed, waterproof, insulated and breathable. It’s longwearing and durable - All these great things about this horse blanket and it’s good looking too.
The original release of this horse blanket by Ozark Leather – Saddle King of Texas sparked a near purchasing stampede to become the owner of a Cowgirl Fever. Many show exhibitors simply had to have it for their horses at the shows and rodeos.
I found it perplexing to think how this horse blanket caught on. I had several instances where people said they would pay more than the asking price just to get it. One customer actually offered to commit to another purchase if only I could get her a size 78 Cowgirl Fever – the size that sold out the quickest.
My original story about this horse blanket came out months ago. It’s entitled “The Cowgirl Fever Horse Blanket Becomes All the Rage.” I was astounded then by this blanket’s popularity. Ozark had a highly successful product, and had grossly underestimated the actual demand. Fortunately for all fans of the fabric pattern, Ozark was able to get another run, albeit a shorter one, of the horse blanket.
Ozark recreated the Cowgirl Fever pattern slightly and has since come out with the stable sheet as well as the 2011 horse blanket. This has enabled many additional people to get the sheet or blanket, or both. The primary difference in the sheet from the original blanket is that there is a black binding, without a pink or black drop. The main change for 2011 is that the pink drop is gone, probably forever, and has been replaced with a black drop. A drop is the large border on the stomach area of the horse blanket that is both decorative and distinctive.
Affordably priced, the Ozark Cowgirl Fever Horse Blanket has an outer coat of 600D Steeltex Ripstop Nylon fabric. It is insulated with 300 gram Fiberfill, and the entire turnout blanket is waterproof. It is high performance in wind, rain and snow, yet this contemporary fabric is comfortable and breathable for the horse. Shoulder gussets allow freedom of movement and the tail flap protects the rear of the horse. The entire blanket is lined with a soft nylon coat-polishing liner.
If you were unable to purchase this horse blanket last year, try again. The closed fronts have arrived already in all sizes and the open fronts are due soon.

I really hope that you are able to get one or several of these hot horse commodities for your own horses if you missed out last year.
