American Idol's Simon Cowell says Howard Stern doesn't have the knowledge base or the looks to fill his seat on television's most prestigious talent judging panel.
"You've got to be good looking, of course. Secondly you've just got to know what your talking about," Simon Cowell told reporters Friday. "They've really got to have experience. They need to be constructive as well. I'm fairly certain Howard Stern wasn't approached about the job. He plays records, but he doesn’t seem to have any of these qualifications.”
Cowell wasn't ruling out celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton to replace him on American Idol, though. "He's got good taste in music and he's a personality. It could work."
Perez Hilton has been actively campaigning for the American Idol position on his website.
Rumors that Howard Stern could replace Cowell on American Idol broke two weeks ago and drew protests from a host of critics who felt Stern would ruin the "family friendly" tone of the show. Howard Stern first laughed off the rumors on his daily satellite radio broadcast, but then said he'd be willing to take the job for $100 million a season.

If you're going to be traveling, don't forget to bring a cowell.
Neither one of those guys have any experience in music production. I heard the likeliest candidate is some guy who's Madonna's manager.
Interesting to see who will replace him!
