Today the New Hampshire Senate voted for Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion against the will of the people. They voted into place one of the biggest medical welfare programs in the history of the Granite State. They have no idea if they’ll get waivers to push the program the way they want. They have no idea how the state will pay the hundreds of millions when the federal dollars start to dry up. They voted for it anyway. Senators voted against the majority of their New Hampshire constituents who have always been against Obamacare. Senators chose Obama and Obamacare over the people who they are supposed to represent. They chose Obama and Obamacare over the will of the people who elected them.
There were a few Senators who actually used the word ‘courageous’ today in describing their support of Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion. How is it courageous to vote for a huge medical welfare program that will hurt the state? How is it courageous to turn people currently independent of government (taxpayer) handouts into dependents of the government? How is it courageous to vote for a huge medical welfare program without knowing whether the federal government will approve it? How is it courageous to force hard-working New Hampshire residents to pay for yet another welfare/entitlement program? The same people who can barely afford to pay for their own extremely high insurance premiums thanks to Obamacare?
There was nothing courageous about voting for Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion. In fact, it was an act of cowardice. Only the cowardly refuse to fight against the federal government. Only the cowardly refuse to stand up to those who wish to turn New Hampshire into a welfare state.
Every Senate Democrat voted for this behemoth welfare program as expected. Democrats never think twice about forcing a huge government program onto taxpayers. The sad part is some Senate Republicans also voted for Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion: Bradley, Morse, Odell, Stiles, Rausch (the gas tax man), Boutin and Forrester. Clearly these Republicans are far more cowardly than the Democrats since they should be fighting for the Granite State and not against. There were Republican Senators who stood with New Hampshire and their constituents: Sanborn, Reagan, Prescott, Cataldo and Carson. They were the truly courageous Senators for standing against the majority of the welfare hounds and standing with the people they represent. Any Senator who chooses Obama over their constituents needs a wake-up call in November. It’s time for Granite Staters to stand courageous against the political hacks that choose to vote against them and prefer to vote with Obama.
