San Francsico, CA: For months, the Facebook page 'Help Save Chalie, the REAL deal,' has been publishing derogatory remarks about Charlie's case and original owner/guardian, David Gizzarelli.
In what has become a kangaroo court filled with retirees, SFACC volunteers and other angry armchair dog behaviorists, the page has become the equivalent of a cyber lynch mob. Freedom of speech is certainly encouraged and protected by the first amendment, but the group commonly being referred to as 'trd,' has crossed the line.
San Francisco Animal Care and Control director, Rebecca Katz, blasted her personal feelings several times on this page in violation of the court agreement. Today, the group has posted video and photos of Charlie in an unknown location.

As the terms of the agreement stipulate, "after considering placements proposed by Gizzarelli, to place Charlie with appropriate third party rehabilitation center or sanctuary."
This group has become so volatile as to attack anyone who disagrees with their agenda. American Pit Bull Examiner and Reunion Rescue have withstood multiple character attacks and libelous slurs in retaliation for articles questioning the legalities surrounding Charlie's case.
Why, and how, are photos, videos and updates being provided to this group? Why has not David Gizzarelli had one message returned as deemed by the court from San Francisco Animal Care and Control? If Gizzarelli was such a terrible owner/guardian, why did he spend so much time taking hundreds of pictures and videos of Charlie which are published on the Help Save Charlie Facebook page?
Finally, why is this 'trd' group so angry and irate? The incident happened at an off-leash park. It was unfortunate, but everyone involved has recovered. The horse's wounds were superficial and look to a trained eye to have been obtained while running through the brush back to the stables
What could have been a very simple solution has turned into a circus. Mr. Gizzarelli could have been awarded temporary custody with the provision he and Charlie attend obedience classes with periodic reports to SFACC and the courts. Instead, the exact opposite decision was handed down, yet the officials seem to be giving updates to the 'trd' group rather than Gizzarelli as deemed by the courts.
