The core group of the event organizers are Michelle Milliken, Don Cotton, Gary Massucco, Paul Melaragni and Steve Banville who have put together five bands for the event inclduing the Diezel Diezelband, The Big Bang Theory, Monkey Wrench, For Pete's Sake and the iCandy Band. These bands form the backbone of what is the local music scene in the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.

Examiner spoke with Paul Melaragni to find out more.

Examiner: Tell us the story of how this event came together?

Melaragni: "All the guys in the local bands have always gotten together around Christmas time. At first we would have our party at Donny Cotton's house. Cotton would have a stage set up in his garage and the different bands had the opportunity to get together and play with one another. The party got so big that we had to take it out to the open. It had become an event that everyone was talking about."

Examiner: How did you choose Children's Hospital?

Melaragni: "We were initially going to select Toys for Tots but all of the toys would have already been distributed by the date of our event which is December 21, 2013. Millikin, one of the event organizers is a Headstart teacher who has worked with children at risk since 1988. Bass player, Dave Heafey of the Big Band Theory, has a daughter Shannon who has had multiple surgeries at Children's Hospital that have saved her life.

Examiner: How long have you known one another?

Melaragni: "We've been friends for twenty five years and the camaraderie we share represents our love of live music that pulled us all into this business in the first place. We've all been in bands with one another and we all support each other when we're not gigging.

These guys have comprised bands that have dominated the local music scene over the years, bands like Ivory Tower, Maximus, Guilty Party, Reaction, M-80, Mirror Mirror, Kicking Stone, The Distractions, Real to Reel, Mojo, Moonshine, Revana, X-Plicit, Shockwave, Mr. Fyde, and Over 6 just to name a few."

The event includes raffles, silent auction, door prize and a 50/50. We will have a limited amount of shirts commemorating this event for sale. There will be a buffet opened from at 7 until 9 or until it runs out.

Tickets are $20.00 and are available at any of the bands websites.
