Author Jude Southerland Kessler has announced that the cover for “She Loves You,” the third book in her John Lennon Series of enhanced biographies of John Lennon, will be an illustration done by her husband Rande Kessler, her publicist told Beatles Examiner Jan. 5.
Rande Kessler, an accomplished artist and also a singer-songwriter, has had his work featured in art shows and galleries across Louisiana for 25 years. His art has been displayed in galleries in Washington, D.C., Natchitoches, LA. and Dothan, AL., and was featured in a one-man show at the Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport, La. His pen and ink art was also the subject of a feature in Dothan Magazine in 2010.
“She Loves You” covers Lennon's life from May, 1963, with Lennon and Brian Epstein's holiday in Spain, through late 1963 when the Beatles are booked on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” The book's foreward was written by journalist Larry Kane, author of the books “Ticket To Ride,” and “When They Were Boys: The True Story of the Beatles' Rise to the Top.” Bill Harry, founder and editor of Mersey Beat newspaper, wrote the prologue.
An excerpt of “She Loves You” has been previously available for Kindle. The full book will debut at the Penn State University conference “It was 50 Years Ago Today: An International Beatles Celebration” Feb. 7-8. Kessler will make a one-day appearance at the Fest for Beatles Fans in New York on Feb. 9. The previous two books in the series “Shivering Inside,” and “Shoulda Been There,” are available in print and for Kindle.
More information on the “She Loves You” and the rest of the series can be found at the books' website.
