FORT LAUDERDALE – Continuing its long-standing tradition of philanthropic support in the area of education, Coventry Health Care of Florida will present the Broward Center's 2011-12 Family Fun Series featuring 18 unique productions staged at five venues in Miami-Dade and Broward County. With engaging pre- and post-show activities, the series offers productions based on children's literature to introduce young audiences to the arts while reinforcing their developing literacy skills. The performances take place in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Parker Playhouse, the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark and the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center.

In addition to donating to the Broward Education Foundation BRACE Scholarship Fund, Coventry Health Care of Florida sponsors the Teacher of the Year Awards ceremony, the Community Involvement Awards and the annual fundraiser for Partners in Education as well as other education events.
Presented on weekends throughout the season, the Broward Center's 2011-12 Family Fun Series features pre-show arts and crafts presented by Young At Art Museum, complimentary face painting and a post-show snack provided by Whole Foods Market and Blue Bell Ice Cream.
Featuring classic children's literature as well as modern favorites, the series began with Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters-An African Tale, Jigsaw Jones-The Case of the Class Clown and Mother Goose – A Pocketful of Rhymes and continues with Sylvester and the Magic Pebble (Nov. 6), A Brown Bear, a Moon and a Caterpillar: Treasured Stories By Eric Carle (Nov. 19), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Nov. 20), A Christmas Carol (Dec. 10), The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus (Dec. 17), Aesop’s Fables (Jan. 15), Ramona Quimby (Jan. 28), ArcAttack (Jan. 29), Jack and the Beanstalk (Feb. 25), Are You My Mother? (Feb. 26), Wizard of Oz (Mar. 11), Skippyjon Jones (Apr. 15), The Ugly Duckling (Apr. 22), Henry and Mudge (May 5) and Clifford the Big Red Dog (May 6).

Individual tickets for the Broward Center's 2011-12 Family Fun Series presented by Coventry Health Care of Florida are $15 in advance and $16 when bought the day of the performance. All venues offer $3 lap tickets available for infants 12 months and under. Discounts of up to $6 a ticket are offered for the 17-, 10-, six- and four-show subscription series.
