Courtney Kerr, Dallas sweetheart and the star of Bravo TV’s newest reality hit show “Courtney Loves Dallas” premiered the first season of her show on December 5, 2013 to a theater full of close family and friends at Look Cinemas in Dallas. The thirty-something reality star was fashionably clad from head to toe in Zara, Top Shop and Louboutin heels with a wrist full of arm candy by one of her favorite accessory shops, Bauble Bar. Fresh off of a 15-hour press stint in NYC to promote her new show, Kerr braved the weather, boarded one of the last two flights scheduled to come into Dallas and watched anxiously as her family and friends viewed the first episode premiere of “Courtney Loves Dallas.”
Threatening ice conditions and the so-called “Ice-Mageddon” in Dallas did not stop those who love Courtney dearly from piling into the private theater to support one of their own. From her newest co-star and best friend, Tori Gonzales to her co-star of The Broadcast, Dawn Neufeld; the room was filled with love and support for the Dallas darling with well wishes for a season two. Who wasn’t in the building? Well, that would be Matt Nordgren of course; to whom Kerr politely showed her Beyonce' “Best Thing You’ve Never Had” attitude towards during the last few minutes of Episode 1.
When asked if she was nervous to watch the premiere with her guests for the evening, Kerr replied with ease,
It’s so much different to watch it with your friends. I’ve watched it alone a lot of times (oh my God, I can’t believe I said that) but then when you sit and watch it with your friends, it’s a really magical moment because those are the people that were there with you and those are the people who support you; so it’s fun to get to share this moment tonight with them.
And what about the snippets of Kerr being tastefully naked in the first several scenes of the premiere? You would think that that alone would make her nervous to watch with family and friends. Kerr chuckles,
We’re all naked. We all come into this world naked. This is me and this is my life and this is me in my real element. Take it or leave it, that’s just me.
From duck-lip dancing at the bar to Texas style twerking, Kerr was still the same girl next door that viewers fell in love with when they first caught eyes and became hooked on the larger-than-life personality star from “Most Eligible Dallas.” Single women all over felt a rush of liberation after the premiere aired as Kerr showcased to the nation what it is like to be single, 30-something and surrounded by great girlfriends—one big party!
And what’s to say about Kerr’s co-star and best friend on the show Tori Gonzales?
Tori is my best friend. Tori is an extension of me. She compares us to Kim and Khloe [Kardashian]...I’m the high maintenance, blunt and honest one and we both have this fun sense of humor that really works and she’s truly everything to me. I could not have done this show without her; she’s the humorous pulse that continues throughout the show.
With Kerr's newfound fame has come remarkable opportunities and one open door after another. While Kerr continues to keep her fans updated with up-to-the-minute on "What Courtney Wore" fashions through her blog (which crashed from so many hits the night of the premiere), the Dallas fashionista has embraced her role with her spot as a co-host of a local entertainment show, "The Broadcast", as well as an upcoming re-launch of her jewelry collaboration with Bauble Bar.
And just when you think you've seen the last of Courtney Kerr--she will have you doing more than just a double take. Catch Kerr on Episode 3 of Bravo Television's "Millionaire Matchmaker" as the matchmaking guru Patti Stanger helps Kerr out in her quest for love. As Kerr bluntly tells Stanger that "I'm not a millionaire," Stanger still takes Kerr under her wing and weeds through the potential beaus for Kerr to experience the date of a lifetime.
While it can be said for many reality television superstars that fame can change one's outlook on life and overall relationships with family and friends--the same can not be said for Courtney Kerr. She's the same bubbly, fiery personality that viewers fell in love with on "Most Eligible Dallas"; the only difference is, is that fans get a full 30 minutes of the outspoken trendsetter along with her unique and comical "Courtney-isms" as one should call it. Kerr has always been down to earth and continues to stay true to her motto that "You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the girl." As the premiere came to an end, Kerr was surrounded by family and friends and most importantly a loud roar as all raised a toast and expressed well wishes for a season two of her new show.
