The 30 guest luncheon held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake, encouraged all the ladies to make their own Kentucky Derby style hats on a budget. Courtney Bingham Sixx lives her life on a budget, her Iheart radio show and blog both called HOW2GIRL share tips on how to live well without breaking the bank.

Courtney also used the luncheon to launch awareness of her new charity "Don't Read: Don't Listen" which she hopes will encourage teens to have the strength to ignore cyber bullying on social media platforms. As a step mother to new husband legendary rocker, Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx's children, Courtney understands the issues that the younger generation have to deal with regarding cyber bullying. "This growing issue does not just affect youth, " she pointed out, "I myself have had some negative comments written about me, I choose to take the high road and ignore them. Hopefully I can do my part to help support today's youth." Courtney is now planning a series of fundraisers for her charity.

Courtney's How2Girl attitude clearly showed at her Kentucky Derby luncheon. For the event Courtney went shopping to Michael's Arts and Craft store and even built the stunning rose door arch by mixing fresh roses with lemon grass, for only $40. Guests hats only cost and average of $15 to make whereas they would cost about $150 - $200 in the store.

Guests dined on traditional Kentucky fare such as buttermilk fried chicken, mashed potatoes, onion rings followed by peach cobbler, mini cupcakes and drank mint juleps made with Makers Mark whiskey.
Lucky guests went home with terrific gift bags which also included the ZING Vodka kindly donated by former Beverly Hills Housewife star and entrepreneur Adrienne Maloof, Yvette Yodeem Jewelry, Geek eye wear etc.
