Fathima Rifqa Bary. She goes by her middle name
Rifqa Bary.
Rifqa Bary returns to a Florida court today for another hearing about whether she will be able to remain in Florida or returned to her parents in Ohio. Bary ran away from her devout Muslim parents in July, stating her reason for doing so was fear for her life after having become a Christian. An earlier court hearing held the matter over until today.
Finding objective reporting on the story is difficult. The Orlando Sentinel's coverage drips with a condescending tone toward Bary, her supporters and Christianity/Christians in general, thus cannot be trusted and is not worthy of linkage. National coverage on the story is unfortunately scant. Blogger Pamela Geller, who makes no claim of impartiality in her support of Bary's case against her parents, has extensively documented the case. Regardless of agreement with Geller's conclusions, her reporting is worthy of review.
John Stemberger, Bary's attorney, has pledged to fight any ruling against his client. He has filed papers with the court detailing allegations the Bary's family mosque has direct connections to radical Islam.
All believers are asked to pray for Bary that she find the peace she deserves and be allowed to freely practice her faith without fear.
An update will be posted here as soon as the court decision is known.

I think she will stay in Florida because Florida has a history of radical court decisions especially when religion is involved. Do you really want a court to take your child away from you for unfounded allegations? Why is it all right for strangers to aid a minor to runaway? At least the judge did rule that Bary have not more contact with the church take aided her flight. How would you let your child to go missing? I suspect Florida will rule that she stay even tough she's a minor.
Why has Rifqa's case been removed from knowledge in Ohio. What is her crime that she is being denied even Christmas cards. CAIR attorney seek to prevent her receiving any Christmas cards from well-wishers. CAIR attorney seems to the Mr.Grinch in this story.
