If you have ever wondered about the big feud between Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer, it is about to all be revealed. On Wednesday, US Magazine shared that a new tell-all book by Vanity Fair contributor Sheila Weller. This book is going to be called "The News Sorority" and it will reveal all.
Back in the early 2000s, they both worked against each other and reports are that they were constantly battling for stories. The book shares all and says, "When a friend of Diane's, a public figure, was being pursued by Katie's people, the wooed eminence got a call from [Diane's movie director husband] Mike Nichols, who said — in a very nice way, to be sure — that he and Diane would essentially cut off all social contact if their friend appeared on Today."
The book will also make Katie Couric and Diane Swayer look good. Even though they didn't get along the writer shares that they were great at their job. It says, "As reporters and communicators of that which was beyond their control — the news of the world — and as women in a tremendously competitive professional arena in which their gender was an impediment, their ability to strongly control what they could control has been central to their success. Each has been self-aware and self-powering in a different way, and their careers offer lessons in female survival."
This book "The News Sorority" will be coming out on September 30. You will want to pick up a copy to read about all of the drama.
