Couples turn up the heat at the Central Market Houston Cooking School

Are you and your sweetie in the mood for a culinary adventure? Romance your tastebuds with a weekend cooking class at Central Market on 3815 Westheimer Road.

Ongoing basic, hands-on, featured chef, kids and couples classes are now available. For about $120 indulge in a leisurely Saturday evening couples cooking session complete with a four course menu. To give you an idea, pairs can sign up for a winter dinner on January 30th that features a beet and goat cheese salad, roast beef tenderloin, gratin of potatoes and onions, and is finished with flaming apple crepes! Book your favorite class in advance before it fills up.

To get to the cooking school, enter the market on the café side and take the elevator or stairs to the left. Your classroom on the second floor is equipped and your chef will provide you with a handout of the recipes and guide you through the process. In a hands-on class everyone will have an opportunity to participate in almost all aspects of meal preparation.

Finally sit down to enjoy the flavorful dishes that you brought to life as a couple and compare notes on how the flavors please your palates. If you've managed to save leftovers, grab a to-go box and head downstairs to stroll throughout a cornucopia of delights from sensuous fruits to a world of cheeses. You will be surrounded by deliciousness and offered samples in almost every department.

For those on a budget, scan for interesting recipe ideas online and pick up a few new ingredients at your favorite grocer.  Enjoy date night at home with an inspired, affordable gourmet meal.

This sounds like a great alternative to the "run of the mill" dates like dinner and a movie! If I was in the area I would definitely enjoy a unique night out like this!

This is a great idea, although pricey.
