We order Netflix regularly and sometimes I'll watch healing type videos on meditation, about the Dalai Lama or coaching, in order to expand my knowledge base. This time I ordered a couples massage DVD.
I recently moved offices plus my husband switched his job and has a big commute. We both had a virus and were tired. So, instead of chatting for 45 minutes after work, we did this massage video. We were laughing and trying to watch the television while keeping in time with the massage moves. It wasn't a risqué massage video at all and it may not even be that advanced but it was a great idea. It even has a quick foot reflexology segment for couples at the end. This could be a good free idea for a couples date for married folk during the week or for couples who know each other well enough for it to feel comfortable.
I'm posting the DVD title below.
Dates don't always need to involve going out (although for me sometimes that's helpful). The point is to relax, build intimacy and escape from your daily routine and responsibilities for awhile. Plus, a dating mindset is ideally relaxed, loving and present so it helps to transition from the busyness of the day and find ways to center yourself.
And you don't need to wait for the weekend to do so. Start with an hour to connect with yourself and your loved one.
My Best in Love,
'Massage Practice for Couples' with Michelle Kluck, CMT. Running Time 40 minutes. Produced by GAIAM. Available on Netflix.
