Couple wins lottery twice on memorable fishing trip

When a couple wins the lottery twice, you know luck is on their side. Apparently, an Arkansas couple did win the lottery twice on a recent fishing trip that they took. According to a report from Tuesday (Feb. 5), one of the prizes was $1 million. Now they will have the funds to go fishing anytime they want in the future.

The story comes out of Arkansas, where a couple decided they were going to go out on a day of fishing. While heading out on their trip, they stopped at a convenience store in Pangburn and bought the first ticket. On the return trip home, they stopped at the same store and bought a second ticket. It seems like odd behavior, but maybe they thought it would increase their odds of winning.

Upon returning home, it turned out that they had won $1 million on one ticket and $50,000 on the other ticket. The state lottery commission has revealed that the couple already claimed their winnings and that they plan "to pay bills and invest in their retirement."

There has not been an update about what the odds are of this occurring, but it seems like it would be very rare to hear about a couple that wins the lottery twice. It's safe to assume that the friends of Stephen and Terri Weaver (the couple) will be asking them to purchase their lottery tickets from now on as well.
