Wednesday, a couple in Tennessee was given a bag of cash at the McDonald’s drive-thru instead of the breakfast food they ordered; the employee realized it almost immediately and went the home of the customers to get the money back, according to the Huffington Post. The news of the McDonald’s cash has created a buzz Thursday.
The McDonald’s cash mistake took place in Hermitage, Tennessee and Greg and Stacye Terry realized soon afterwards that a mistake had been made. The money was for a deposit that was supposed to be taken to the bank. The McDonald’s employee knew the customers and went to their home hoping to get the McDonald’s cash back.
The Terry’s gave the cash back immediately and told the local news station that "It was the right thing to do." The Terry’s didn’t know exactly how much money it was, but they said it was a lot. Stacye Terry said her husband looked in the bag and said I think we have the McDonalds deposit here, and she said:
"The second that he said it was their deposit, my first thing was let's get in the truck and take it back. There is no other way to have it. I couldn't live with myself."
The McDonald’s employee showed up a short time later.
The owner of the McDonald's released a statement later thanking the couple for their honesty.
