A Cobb County couple from Powder Springs was arrested last Friday after being accused of hog-tying two children and locking them in their bedrooms.

According to the arrest warrant, Sean Patrick Sterling, 35, reportedly tied up his fiance's two sons and locked them in their rooms for a prolonged period time. The mother of the two boys, 35-year-old Shawnna Leigh Huntley, allegedly allowed Sterling to tie her children up without intervening.

The incidents occurred between December 25 and March 7 at the couple's residence off of Meadow Lake Trail in Powder Springs, The children, ages 14 and 8, were tied up to a chair with duct tape before being forced to remain in their bedrooms. Additionally, the warrants says that although Sterling and Huntley knew their children needed medical assistance from the physical abuse, they were not taken in for treatment.

Both Sterling and Huntley were arrested and charged with two felony counts of second-degree cruelty to children. Sterling was released on a $75,000 bond from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center this weekend, but Huntley remains behind bars on a $25,000 bond.

Per Officer Mike Bowman of the Cobb County Police, the investigation is still ongoing.
