County stacks up hospital bond funding

Hospital service providers Sharp HealthCare and Grossmont Hospital will not improve hospital facilities at sites across San Diego without financial help from the county. The counnty supevisors decided Thuesday to use bonds that give the hospitals the money they need to refinance their debts and pay for planned work at the sites.

Their plans are large scale. Large sums of money were needed to fund both new construction and facilities improvements. Bond monney will pay for construction work supplies and the furnishing and equipping of the facilities.

Hospital facilities will have a new look at Sharp HealthCare locations on Spectrum Center Boulevard, Tech Way, and Frost Street. Sharp Memorial gains opportunities to work on level sites in its hospital collection. The Medical Center Court location Sharp Chula Vista operates gets a share of the bond money.

The service facility development enterprise Grossmont Hospital has planned using the bond money covers Grossmont Center Boulevard and six other locations.
