After recently (Feb 5,2013) attending the Country Superstars show at the V Theater in Las Vegas, we easily grasped why this fast-paced entertainment option has been popular at several venues in Las Vegas for a number of years. The show has just recently moved to the V Theater location in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, with each performance featuring tributes to four iconic country artists.
The show is presented in a smaller concert hall located on the second floor of the location, and most any seat in the house provides great views in an intimate setting. On this night, we saw overall great vocal and mannerism impersonations of stars Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, and Big & Rich. The live backing band (no backing tracks or synthetic add-ins) did a superb job supporting the tribute artists and encouraging the crowd members.
The highlights were numerous, with the Big & Rich tribute performance standing out as the most energized and crowd-rousing single act. Their up-tempo tunes had the whole joint on our feet and participating in the party.
The Tim McGraw impersonator, Adam Tucker, did an outstanding job vocally. Tucker informed the attending crowd that he had recently signed a Nashville recording contract in Las Vegas. He is indeed a talented singer and we'll likely hear from him in the future on a national scale.
The live band, again, added a core part of the entertainment value to this show. In particular, we'd like to laud the talents of the lead (and acoustic) guitar player, Johnny Douglas. This guy is a phenomenal picker, and further did a great job providing background harmonies for all the tribute artists. His subtle yet powerful contributions as a side man added a ton to the overall performance.
We highly recommend this moderately priced, live tribute show for country music fans in Vegas. Considering the ticket costs, it is truly a good value. Additional tribute artists impersonate Brooks and Dunn, Willie Nelson, and Wynona Judd in a rotating cast lineup which adds freshness to the performances.
This show is presented six nights a week (dark Sundays) at 6 p.m. at the V Theater. Tickets are $49.99 (GA) and $59.99 (VIP). Phone 702-260-7200 for further info.
Cheers...
