On Tuesday, February 26, Good Morning America released the names of the contestants appearing on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ season 16. After some media speculation, we learned that country music representatives Wynonna and Kellie Pickler have been confirmed among the upcoming season’s competitors.
In 2008, Pickler hinted to OK! Magazine that she would enjoy an opportunity to be on DWTS. “I told Julianne Hough I thought it would be fun,” she said. “It would be a challenge for me to learn the technique,” she added.
The former American Idol finalist, and red haired songstress will be joined by reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, boxer Victor Ortiz and figure skater Dorothy Hamill. Comedians D.L. Hughley and Andy Dick, along with General Hospital actor Ingo Rademacher and Disney Star Zendaya Coleman will also be contestants.
The ‘Red-High Heels’ singer will be paired up with three-time DWTS champion Derek Hough, brother of fellow country singer, Julianne Hough.
Sara Evans and Chuck Wicks have also appeared on previous seasons, and now Music City USA will be making its way back to the DWTS dance floor once again.
Will Pickler and/or Wynonna wow the judges and make their way to the final dance-off? There’s only one way to find out! Be sure to tune in, and to root for Nashville!
Season 16 will be premiering with a two-hour episode on Monday, March 18 (8 p.m. ET/PT, ABC).
