On July 21, it was revealed that country music singer Chris Young had a major reason to be proud of. His latest single, the love ballad, "Who I Am With You," has reached the top of the Mediabase Country Singles chart, and it has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He is out on the road playing live shows for his fans.
"Yeah, I'm pretty happy right now," Young remarked in a press statement, especially since "Who I Am With You," marked his sixth No. 1 single in his career.
His other chart-topping singles include "Tomorrow," "Voices," "You," "The Want I Want To Be," as well as "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)."
The tune "Who I Am With You" was co-penned by such songwriters as Marv Green, Jason Sellers and Paul Jenkins. James Stroud served as its producer and Trey Fanjoy directed its music video. It is the sophomore radio single from his fourth studio album, A.M., which was released via his record label, RCA Nashville, earlier in the year.
"Everybody is looking for that one person who lets them be themselves and, whether we want to admit it or not, pushes us to be a better person," Young added in the press release. "This song couldn't say it any better and I’m glad I got to be the person to sing it."
Young's lead single "Aw Naw" from this album was a Top 3 single on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts and it reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, peaking at No. 4. Similar to his current single "Who I Am With You," "Aw Naw" was also certified gold.
